Advice about the Fall 2021 PSAT

The Fall 2021 PSAT is scheduled for either on October 13, 2021, October 16, 2021 or October 26, 2021, yet may be subject to restrictions or cancellation depending on public health conditions. Taking the PSAT, any high school students can practice for SAT’s or ACT’s, and, for Juniors particularly, taking the PSAT is also a qualifying exam to compete for National Merit Scholarships

Just For Juniors

If Juniors can’t take the October PSAT to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship competition, they can submit SAT scores from March through June 2022 test dates to qualify for the National Merit Scholars consideration and must also notify the National Merit Scholarship Corporation about missing the test by April 1, 2022.

For Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen: As many universities have not yet announced their admissions testing policies beyond next Fall 2022, taking the PSAT to practice for the SAT or ACT is prudent planning. Students can use the detailed PSAT score report as a guide should they need to practice for the SAT or ACT later.
